TITLE: Business Analyst – Hedge Fund (1079-1)

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience

SUMMARY:

The firm is a fast-growing manager of alternative credit funds with over $1billion under management.  They make highly structured cash flow and asset-backed senior secured loans to middle market companies and are industry agnostic and employ a private debt investment process, working closely with borrower management teams and industry experts during the underwriting process and throughout the life of the loan.  In search of a Business Analyst who can bridge the gap between the business users of the reporting and the coders that will be developing the reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

BA – required

2+ years of experience

Advent Geneva Portfolio accounting system, specifically RSL (Geneva s reporting language) -- required

RDL, Java, SQL and UNIX experience

Understanding of Microsoft SQL databases

System analysis experience and have the ability to troubleshoot and debug software

Ability to adapt to and modify existing code

Develop and document software testing

Storing, retrieving, and manipulating data

Experience of working in a client facing role and being able to communicate clearly and concisely with the team both in a technical and business manner.

Understanding of the direct lending space and the bank debt/credit facility functionality of Advent Geneva is a plus

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

• Provides coaching on Agile values and practices while emphasizing continuous improvement
• Enables individual project teams to share their learning with the organization
• Encourages collaboration and proactively seeks opportunities to improve collaboration
• Tracks and ensures visibility of historical team metrics and progress of the iteration and release
• Emphasizes the need for incremental releases, iterative work and prioritization by value and risk
• Assists with internal and external communication by transparently radiating information, especially relative to historical team metrics, progress towards iteration and release goals, and team capacity
• Partners with project leads to ensure the team is producing a solution that meets established standards, procedures and practices
• Collaborates with project leads to aggressively address issues, risks and mitigation plans
• Instills a sense of urgency reflecting the goals for the current iteration, upcoming release, and project vision, while passionately emphasizing the importance of meeting these goals
• Optimizes, increases and sustains throughput; ensuring prioritization of work by value and risk

 Qualifications

• Must have 6+ years IT experience
• Must have 1+ years of hands-on ScrumMaster experience utilizing Agile delivery framework
• Hands-on experience in the proactive, passionate improvement of software development process and practices to optimize business value delivery
• Preferred to be a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent
• Preferred to have experience with distributed development teams which span multiple geographies, time zones and cultures
• Preferred to have direct experience in a Web, Java, XML, RDBMS development environment
• Must have experience overseeing project teams with at least 10 team members
• Must have exceptional written and verbal communication and time management skills
• Must be self-motivated, organized, self-confident and self-directing with a proven ability to identify priorities and mobilize initiatives in an orderly fashion to achieve desired results with minimal supervision
• Must be effective and efficient in identifying and proposing creative, innovative solutions to complex, time-critical challenges
• Must possess excellent situational awareness and an ability to remain calm under pressure and be cognizant of how you are perceived
• Must have hands-on experience and a thorough understanding of agile soft
