Internal Wholesaler, DC

Title:  Internal Wholesaler – 2 positions (1025-1)
Location:  Washington DC area
Compensation: Depends on experience

Summary:
The position is responsible for promoting exchange traded funds and mutual funds to wirehouses, hedge funds, and institutional clients through telephone conversations and web-based presentations, assisting external wholesalers in territory management; and for qualifying prospects.  We anticipate that the incumbent will simultaneously develop market, product presentation, analytical and sales skills.

Requirements:
Introduce current and prospective clients to investment products and services through telephone conversations, web-based presentations, conference attendance and in-person meetings.
Cultivate and manage client relationships by responding to client inquiries, providing ongoing communication with clients/prospects, and ensuring that business partners provide exemplary services to our most important clients.
Responsible for qualifying prospects via responding to inquiries, cold calling, direct mail campaigns, etc.
Provide sales support to the outside relationship management team through client call backs, written follow up and lead generation.
Assists relationship managers and outside sales in securing meetings and ensuring that post meeting follow-up tasks are completed expeditiously.
Achieve specific goals, e.g. contacts, presentations, qualified lead generations, as established by the department head.

Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree is required
A Series 7 and Series 63 required
Demonstrated record of successful customer service/client relationship management in the financial professional channel
Familiar with mutual funds
Ability to proactively call clients and prospects to secure appointments and conduct information meetings
Ability to conduct web-based presentations and to acquire in-person presentation skills
Excellent verbal communications skills
Possess in-depth understanding of the ETF and mutual fund industry, financial concepts, product knowledge, investment management, and client-service strategies
Be able to prioritize client projects and requests effectively
Understand the needs of clients in order to identify “critical” services they must have, competitive services they expect to have and additional services they would like to have
Possess breadth of product knowledge in order to act as main point of contact in dealing with clients and prospects
Possess intermediate proficiency levels in consulting to clients, managing relationships, obtaining and processing information required to provide services, and providing sales support required
Ability to travel 5% to 20%
Will accompany as needed ETF sales staff for presentations and attend as needed conferences

Risk Manager, CT

Title:  Risk Manager (888-3)
Location:  Connecticut
Compensation:  Commensurate with experience

Summary:
Private institutional investment management firm focused on increasing/improving quantification/automation in trading processes seeks experienced quant to create/run Risk Management function at established multi-asset class quantitative investment manager.

Responsibilities:
Work with CEO/CIO/other quants to develop firm-wide/cross-asset risk management framework
Maintain database of strategy and product risk/performance statistics
Understand/monitor quant strategies and develop summary/exception reports
Manage risk summary section in trading GUI
Enforce trader risk and capital allocation limits
Make suggestions for improvements to statistical validity of models/live trading strategies
Liaise with prime brokers/banks to manage capital and leverage for futures/currencies/derivatives strategies
Liaise with prime brokers/investors to manage capital and leverage of long/short and long-only equity products
Develop new equity/futures/currency options scenario analysis framework
Act as liaison between researchers/traders/operations/technology and CEO/CIO
Represent the firm externally as needed

Requirements:
5+ years experience working for a major financial institution in risk management/trading/quant analysis
MSc/PhD in quantitative discipline preferred (Physics/Computer Science/Applied Mathematics/Operations Research/etc.)
MBA with exceptional analytical background will be considered
Current knowledge of regulation in global equity/futures/derivatives markets
Familiarity with equity/fixed-income derivative pricing models
Solid grasp of VaR methodology including robust estimation
Deep understanding of statistics and financial economics
Strong communication/interpersonal skills
Programming experience required (Python/Linux strongly preferred)
Able to take a hands-on approach to analyzing data/managing databases/generating reports
