Analyst (Compliance/Fund Administration)

Summary:
Diversified investment management/financial company seek an Analyst to support their Chief Compliance Officer as well as VP of Fund Administration, in the administration of the firm’s mutual funds, investment adviser and broker-dealer.

Responsibilities:
Compliance-
Assist in development/administration of firm’s Code of Ethics compliance program, including maintaining the electronic administration system, monitoring personal securities transactions, responding to employees’ questions, monitoring gifts/entertainment
Participate in compliance testing and annual reviews of firm’s compliance programs
Develop enhanced methods of monitoring compliance desktop procedures
Monitor regulatory/industry updates and make recommendations regarding necessary changes to the compliance programs
Draft compliance and desktop policies/procedures
Conduct compliance training
Assess the contents/requirements for and prepare various regulatory filings
Assist with regulatory (SEC/FINRA/DOL) audits
Develop working knowledge of various firm systems
Perform various general administrative duties

Fund Administration
Detailed review of weekly check requests prepared by sub-administrator (all fund expenses)
Review/maintain/monitor vendor reporting matrixes, including vendor follow up for missing reports
Review of sub-administrator reports including cash availability/daily sheets/closing prices/stale prices/advisory/
12b-1 tie out spreadsheets/total returns/fund accounting reports
Post Fund holdings/performance to the firm’s website
Review of all transfer agent reports
Review/calculation of monthly 12b-1 accrual
Provide billing oversight for quarterly 12b-1 payments from transfer agent
Monitor daily NAV alert process including fulfilling the “first alert” role
Perform detailed review of annual/semi-annual financial statements
Maintain Master Non-Standard Dealer List, including non-standard dealer payment oversight
Participate in vendor oversight of sub-advisers/transfer agent/fund sub-administrator/fund accountant/custodian including: potential on-site visits/bi-weekly conference calls with sub-administrator on service levels and new issues
Perform detailed review of quarterly board materials/preparation of materials and/or special analyses
Participate in annual contract reviews (Rule 15c materials)
Participate in prospectus/SAI/N-SAR regulatory filing process
Assist in the review of the Funds’ budget and help make accrual recommendations on a monthly basis
Assist independent outside auditors during their annual examination

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required (Accounting or Finance degree preferred)
FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses are required within 120 days of hire
2+ years of prior experience in the mutual fund, investment adviser and/or broker-dealer industry in a compliance or fund administration capacity
Working knowledge of IARD, Web CRD, portfolio accounting, CRM systems, and personal trading surveillance systems
Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and to develop enhancements to processes leveraging the technologies
Excellent written/oral communications skills required

Settlements Analyst

Title: Settlements Analyst

Summary/Responsibilities:
Work with all parties involved to ensure timely and accurate settlement of all trades
Work with trading desk to ensure that the cash is in line for all accounts managed
Reconcile trades to broker confirmations at the end of the day for our Japanese clients and send reconciled trade report to client daily
Work with Portfolio Management team to ensure that all applicable Proxies are voted
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for distribution to clients and or their trustees
Track and resolve all trade errors
Ensure that all trade files are processed and sent appropriately

Requirements:
BA in business or related field
Minimum 1-3 yrs. experience in securities settlement
Strong attention to detail
Strong computers skills in MS Excel and Word
Global settlement experience, a plus
Knowledge of derivatives transactions, a plus
Knowledge of Omgeo CTM and Advent Moxy / Axys or similar systems is a plus

Business Analyst

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Business Analyst for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial clients in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:
Represent the voice of the Fixed Income business and provide Fixed Income subject matter expertise in the required business domains to the IT delivery teams - Portfolio Management, Trading, Fixed Income Analytics/Data and Credit Research
Define scope, high level requirements and conditions of acceptance of new system features
Facilitate analysis and understanding of requirements between the Fixed Income business and IT delivery teams.
Re-design and optimize business processes
Assist the creation and management of product roadmaps, risks and issues
Work with the London based Fixed Income Program Manager and IT Scrum Master to manage and prioritize the product backlog for agile software development teams. Note: this includes writing and reviewing user stories, including the writing of acceptance criteria
Work with Product Management and Scrum Master to set release plans and prioritize product feature scope. This also includes preparation of the business case sections for the software review milestone gates.
Work directly with IT developers to make ensure the software meets the product requirements and business requirements
Represent the team in facilitating backlog reviews and scope estimation with the IT team
Hands on data analysis and performing acceptance testing and sign-off of deliverables
Ensure business risks and issues are managed and resolved
Promote awareness of change and act as primary trainer for Portfolio Managers in your location

Required Skills:
Must have significant fixed income experience gained working as a business analyst within asset management firms
Strong Fixed Income business/data acumen and analytical capabilities
Must be credible in front of portfolio managers, and comfortable liaising directly with them

In this position you will work within the back office trading systems - Options Billing Group.  This group is responsible for interacting with "end client " trading partners to facilitate billing on options transactions.  Prior experience with securities trading systems including: Trade Processing, Trade Matching, Trade Clearing, Trade Settlement and Trade Pricing is a plus!

Activities will include:
