Horizon Technology Partners has an immediate opening for a Sr. Business Analyst. Your skills are needed to assist a direct client operation within the Financial sector in downtown Chicago, IL 60605 (the CBOE). In this position you will work within the back office trading systems - Options Billing Group. This group is responsible for interacting with "end client " trading partners to facilitate billing on options transactions. Prior experience with securities trading systems including: Trade Processing, Trade Matching, Trade Clearing, Trade Settlement and Trade Pricing is a plus!
Activities will include:
- Conducting the business analysis and developing user requirements, specifications and documentation, QA test plans and other related project documentation.
- Developing required SDLC documentation
- Confers with systems users to enhance their requirements to achieve greater efficiency, systems integration or cost reduction.
- Provide on-site support for highly complex problem resolution crossing all systems within the organization.
- Participating with business units to develop strategic technological initiatives.
- Determines all cost/benefit analysis on proposed initiatives.
- Please note: This role will require heavy interaction with the business clients, stakeholders and subject matter experts, a strong professional presence is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Domain / Functional knowledge of Derivatives or Securities Trading Systems
- 5+ years of experience as a business analyst, extensive knowledge of associated applications and interfaces, and the development process.
- Strong with Requirements Gathering skills: Running JAD secessions, creating Process Maps, GAP Analysis etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively, gather information, convey concepts and offer persuasive alternatives.
- Strong documentation skills
- Solid command of Quality Assurance processes and testing
- Strong commitment to project delivery dates and doing whatever it takes to meet those dates
- Plays well as part of a team, cooperative, offers ideas, flexible
- Organized, thorough and strong attention to detail
