Title: Performance Analyst (56-15)
Location: Chicago, IL
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Summary:
Fee-based investment management firm seeks a Performance Analyst to join the Operations team. Ideal candidate will have prior investment management experience, working knowledge of GIPS/CAPS/Portia, strong Excel skills. This position reports to the Chief Compliance Officer. Will work independently on projects but also provide support to the senior management team, and maintain firm-wide GIPS compliance and accurate composite performance/related records.
Responsibilities:
Generate performance returns/reports for domestic/foreign portfolios from internal accounting system on a daily/weekly/monthly/as needed basis
Compute benchmark/composite returns on a monthly basis with comparison to portfolio returns
Determine accuracy of portfolio returns vs. benchmark returns/analysis of outstanding issues/exceptions
Manage updates of all account/composite changes to ensure accuracy of changes for GIPS compliance
Update/maintain portfolio/composite database for portfolio/benchmark/composite returns
Respond to internal staff inquiries
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
2 to 3 years working with GIPS required
Intermediate level proficiency with Excel required
2 to 3 years working with CAPS software and Portia strongly preferred
Ability to communicating with the consultant community
Experience with RFP/RFI
Experience with consultant marketing database
Ability to handle multiple assignments/competing priorities under short deadlines
Strong analytical/quantitative/
Ability to work independently/collaboratively
Knowledge/experience in SQL a plus
Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) preferred
