Title: Controller (443-6)
Location: Southwest US
Compensation: Outstanding compensation package commensurate with experience
Summary/Responsibilities:
Investment Management firm seeks a Controller to supervise their Corporate Accounting Department, which will include directing/managing/training a team of seven in month-end close and daily accounting operations.
Ensure accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Maintain appropriate internal controls
Prepare/supervise monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports with schedules
Streamline new processes and increase efficiency in GL, A/P, month-end close, and daily accounting operations
Review/post month-end close journal entries
Supervise corporate tax filings
Prepare budgets
Analysis of budgets to accruals
Review monthly balance sheet/income statement/trial balance account reconciliations
Analyze new accounting pronouncements for impact on company operations
Oversee and act as primary contact for audits
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
CPA strongly preferred
Must hold FINRA Series 27 (or obtain within thirty days of hire)
10+ years of directly related experience plus a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role is required
Superior understanding of GAAP
Prior experience with corporate level tax issues required
Financial institution experience preferred
Great Plains Dynamics experience preferred
Superior organizational skills; excellent supervision skills; must possess a “hands on” leadership style
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
