Title: Project Manager - Organizational Change
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Chicago, IL
- This Senior Project Manager is working on an Organizational change project that will involve Front line staff and back office functions. This will revolve around process improvement (Six Sigma background - nice to have).
- This Project Manager will have advanced people skills and be an emotional leader and bring energy and confidence to the project.
- The Project Manager will have no Budget to manage or any Direct Reports but will need advanced people skills to work with the people that will be affected by the process change.
- A change management background would be a big nice to have. Also someone that has done this on a project that involves people and NOT technology is what we are looking for here.
- Business Transformation project experience is ideal.
Knowledge
- Possesses a university degree and/or 10+ years relevant work experience
- Possesses advanced knowledge and 7 to 10 years of experience in project and program management, including managing large-scale projects or programs of significant complexity and value (> $5MM) with high risk
- Banking/Financial Services knowledge and experience is an asset
- Holding a valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is an asset
Skills:
- Excellent relationship management and consulting skills which results in proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders, mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace, execute with limited information and ambiguity
- Expert change leadership and management skills
- Expert risk management skills
- Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
- Good stakeholder management and influencing skills, effective at the senior executive level
- Sound business and technical acumen, with demonstrated agility in learning and ability to quickly become comfortable with unfamiliar businesses areas or of technologies
- Expert presentation, written and verbal communication skills which bring clarity and precision at executive levels
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex issues, policies, regulatory requirements and industry information affecting the business environment
- Exemplary core project management skills including multiple aspects of the PMBOK (i.e. Project Management Institute's PM Body Of Knowledge)
- Solid knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. MS Project, SharePoint repositories)
