Job Description: Scrum Master
1. Purpose of the job
Lead one or two Scrum teams in a large transformation program
Be an Agile coach to other scrum teams
3. Main responsibilities & Deliverables
Facilitate sprint planning, daily scrums, retrospectives, stakeholder meetings, and software demonstrations.
Protect development team from outside distractions, impediments or team conflicts, and maintain focus on product backlog and sprint timeline.
Work closely with project owner in backlog management and continuous delivery of features.
Educate and reinforce scrum methodology and agile framework to team members and key stakeholders.
Direct and lead development team from project initiation through delivery of final product.
Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
Coaching the team to remove impediments
Coaching the team to be self organizing and to not look at the Scrum Master for task direction
Understands technical debt and helps the team in removing it.
Help product owner maintain the backlog and assist in release planning
Have good understanding Agile software engineering metrics
4. Key Competencies required
Very good understanding of Agile development principles, practices and implementation
Certified scrum master.
Knowledge and/or experience of Kanban.
Excellent communication skills
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Experience working in a distributed agile model
Qualifications
years in a project management capacity
years of relevant consulting or industry experience
full life cycle implementations
years experience participating in large-scale, full-life cycle Service Oriented Architecture implementations
years of experience working in an Agile environment
years working as a Scrum Master
Experience in Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery is a plus
